Disaster strikes Rwanda!

On the tragic day of April 6, 1994 the Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana was killed when his plane was shot out of the sky. This event sparked organized killings and widespread sexual violence although the blame for the shooting was never established. Hutu extremists began killing their political opponents the following day.

The above pictures are of President Juvenal Habyarimana, the third president of the Republic of Rwanda. He ruled in office for 21 years. He was a part of the Hutus.

  1. We openly supported the command of President Juvenal Habyarimana against the RDF rebels.

  2. Without the RDF the genocide could have ended much worse and the death toll would be significantly higher. The war in Rwanda could still be going on if it were not for the brave RDF soldiers.

  3. The Hutu party thinks that the Tutsis are responsible for this tragedy, and asked us to aid them with weapons. We've responded and are giving them the supplies needed to rebel.

  4. This is horrible. I wish we had known about this sooner, but in late 1993, we were denied access to current intelligence, for whatever reason.
